Description
🌄 ABOUT THIS SONOMA COUNTY LANDSCAPE:
As the sun slips behind the hills of Petaluma, the sky ignites with fiery color. Captured from the Ellis Creek and Petaluma Wetlands area, this image blends silhouetted oaks, glowing orange skies, and delicate wisps of cloud drifting overhead. Birds in flight complete the scene—reminding us that some moments are meant to be witnessed in silence.
🌿 A PIECE OF MY JOURNEY, JUST FOR YOU
This is one of my favorite spots to end the day. From the quiet paths near Ellis Creek, I’ve watched countless sunsets—each one a little different, each one a reminder to pause. On this evening, the sky burned with color, and the silhouettes of the hills took on a softness that only dusk can give.
As a veteran and a lifelong observer of the natural world, I’m drawn to the quiet transitions—the spaces between light and dark, movement and stillness. This photo captures that brief window when the day exhales and the earth glows one last time before night settles in.
If you’ve ever stood at the edge of day, taking in the light before it fades, this image will feel familiar. It’s a breath, a pause, and a promise all in one.
