🔥 ABOUT THIS SONOMA VINEYARD PRINT:
Golden vines stretch across Moon Mountain Vineyard beneath brooding autumn skies—an image both beautiful and bold. But beyond the color and composition lies a deeper story: one of survival, strength, and the quiet power of resilience.
🔥 A LANDSCAPE THAT ENDURED
This photograph was taken shortly after the devastating 2017 wildfires that swept through Sonoma County. I had been documenting the front lines—photographing the tireless efforts of firefighters as they fought to protect lives and land, just down the hill from here. I watched the flames draw dangerously close to this vineyard. And I saw them stop—just short of its heart.
When I returned, the vineyard stood firm. Scarred nearby, but untouched. The golden rows, backlit by stormy skies, seemed to say: we’re still here.
As a veteran and photographer, this image means a lot to me. It’s about more than beauty. It’s about what it takes to rebuild. To endure. To rise from the edge of loss and still show color, growth, and light.
Whether you’ve lived through fire or simply admire the will to persevere, this piece is a tribute to that spirit—of the land, the people, and the quiet power of holding on.
